How i spent my day today (6 March 2006)Okie.. Time to put aside my personal problems first.. Wanna talk about how i spent my day.. heh heh ;)
(Started to write as of yesterday 6 March 2006, so i will treat this entry as i'm writing this yesterday)
This morning, i set off from home at about 7:20am, eagered to go Singapore Poly to appeal.. 1st, i took TIB853M of service(svc) 184 (perm, KJ 184) to Clementi MRT that side. Upon reaching, i was hopping for a Volvo CNG (Gassy) bus on svc 105 to Singapore Poly, but in the end, Volvo Mk 4 came instead, so i decided to go for a toilet break @ Clementi MRT Station and waited for the next svc 105 bus, hoping for a gassy bus. Instead, another Volvo Mk 4 came again, and this time i better take that bus le lo.. SBS2720T on svc 105.. Upon reaching Singapore Poly, i saw a few of ZSS friends there.. Got Wei Chiang, Shatik (sry i really dunno how to spell correctly), Han Hoon and 1 of her friend. And, i also didn't expect that 1 of my bus enthauistist friend, Malcolm (currently studying in SP also) to be there also.. Heh.. he went there to just copy the COP for 2006 and after that he need to rush for his attachment job in Shenton Way. As for me, i decided to take svc 105 again (hoping for a gassy bus again but it failed) from Singapore Poly to Serangoon Interchange (since i never went there before).. SBS924K on svc 105..
Wah.. Over at Serangoon Interchange, IMO, it was far more WORST than Bt Panjang Int.. Just by looking at its deployment of a certain service i can buay tahan(cannot take it) liao.. Its interchange really need some upgrading work liao, ever since it was built somewhere in 1986. So, i went on to take SBS2824C on svc 81 to Tampines Regional Interchange for my lunch break.. After my lunch break, i took SBS1706S on svc 28 (cameo, BN SP) to Toa Payoh.. Initially, the trip really sux like hell lo.. Feel like as if i were on a Nissan Diesel (UD) bus, meaning free sauna again.. But at least that WA Mk 2 can chiong (i even got recorded its turbo-like sound.. heh :D).
Upon reaching Toa Payoh Int, i went for a toilet break and decided to take its feeder services there.. So...... I went on to take a CAC Scania SBS3668E on svc 238 for 1 loop, and later on, SBS365Z on svc 231G for 1 trip.. Haiz.. When i was on svc 231G, i kinda miss my old home at Lor 1 Toa Payoh.. The Piston Clinic at Blk 163 is still there, my old block(forget was it 149 or 150) is also still there, somemore upgraded liao.. I still remembered during my times in Toa Payoh(before mid-1996), the fleets for svc 231 are mainly Volvo B57 series, NAC feeder svc de.. Hmm.. Something to tell Malcolm: Mal, you are very lucky to get Scania buses when you moved to Toa Payoh somewhere in 1998, together with the building of its Toa Payoh HDB Hub, making Toa Payoh Central a much more better place than what it used to be..
As for me currently staying in Bt Panjang, i hope to stay within this Bt Panjang estate even when i become a father.. Who knows, 10 years 20 years down the road it will become what Toa Payoh is right now.. According to Dr Teo, he told me that the current Bt Panjang Interchange is a temporary one. In future, Bt Panjang Interchange will be a underground one(who knows whether it will become SMRT Buses's 1st Interchange to be air conditioned), with commercial building on top of it, and even a MRT station maybe.. All these, we have to wait until the empty field along Senja Rd/Segar Rd and its empty field near Segar LRT Station filled with HDB houses/future sports complex, and with its intergrated transport network(Bus, LRT, MRT), i believe it can be better than Woodlands. Currently, i can say Bt Panjang feeder services are very pathetic.. Let me tell you the rough history of svc 920..
920 is a feeder service introduced in 26 Feburary 2000(correct me if i'm wrong). It was introduced because of complains made by the residents when 179, 344 and 345 was withdrawn due to the BP LRT lo.. These few years till 20th November 2004, it has always bring in good service for its residents and there was once in June/July 2004 where bendies were deployed on svc 920.. Ever since those Nissan UDs 'invaded' Bt Panjang's feeder service from 20th November 2004 to Friday 24th Feburary 2006, it caused a lot of hell problem to its residents.. Breakdowns were a common sight during these times.. Elderly living especially around Bangkit Rd area would have a hard time boarding and alighting the UDs buses..
Ever wonder how come the 3 Mercedes Benz(Merz) buses came back to svc 920? Well, all thanks to Dr Teo, MP for BPJ/Holland GRC for helping me to fight back those Merz when i went to see him during "Meet The People Session". Dr Teo also told me a lot of things which i don't know such as the one where the current Bt Panjang Interchange being a temporary one.. He also said that he will get his transport committee in Bt Panjang to ask me to join in part of their committee too.. And every now and then, i will update with them about its bus services in Bt Panjang.
Okie... talk so much craps le.. Back to topic.. After 238 and 231 in Toa Payoh, i took SBS270M of svc 139 to Bt Merah Interchange and CSS204T to Collyer Quay, lastly TIB546A of svc 700 back to Bt Panjang Interchange before i went for my San Shou training.. But before i went for my training, i saw TIB744U on 920 surprisingly. Initially i really thought it was going to be a additional bus for svc 920 but i was wronged. It was TIB541M's breakdown cameo. Failed my mission to take a photo of it.. Haiz.. Okie.. End of story for the day le..
